Daikon Rolls with Chicken, Mango and Avocado (Whole30, Paleo)

so we're gonna start by making the dipping sauce so in a blender or food processor you want to combine 1 tablespoon sesame oil 3 tablespoons orange juice a little chunk of ginger 2 tablespoons of coconut aminos the juice of one lime and then 3 tablespoons of OM butter or cashew butter so I blended it until completely smooth and all the gingers kind of broken down and then I'm just gonna pour it into a dish and I'm just gonna store this in the fridge until I'm ready to use it but I just tasted it and it tastes really good ok so this is a daikon radish it's a really mild flavored radish that's most commonly used in Asian cuisine to start with I am just going to use a vegetable peeler and peel off just the outer layer where all the dirt is you due to the fact that I will more likely than not cut off my finger with the mandolin I'm using a cheese slicer oh that was a not a good cut there we go as you can see get long thin slices like that so easy okay so I like to do a few slices on one side then flip it over just that has a flat bottom so won't move around as much and I'm just gonna use this cheese slicer to go all the way down like so see perfect in long slices so I would say I have enough wraps for I don't know maybe like 20 or 30 rolls so there's more than enough here so with the leftover daikon you can actually spiralize it and use it as noodles in an Asian soup and I'm actually gonna put a link at the end of this for a recipe for that so now I'm just getting all the filling ready for mangoes I find the easiest way to peel them is actually with a vegetable peeler versus a knife because this way you get just the skin and not all the good stuff do you want to eat okay guys here's a tip for picking avocados so you want to remove the stem from each and as you can see those are quite nice and green in there but if it's black or brown that generally means that the avocado is overripe and you'll probably find some brown spots when you cut it open my filling is ready I have shredded chicken mango avocado cucumber red onion cilantro and cashews but honestly feel free to use whatever you want you can use prawns you can use shredded carrot shredded apple there's loads of different off so if you have long wraps like this I would actually recommend cutting them in half because they don't actually need to be that long and then you have two smaller wraps which is perfect so let's assemble assemble you just want to put everything down the fatter end of the roll like so avocado cucumber sprinkle a little cilantro right onion and some cashews and then to roll it up you're just gonna go like this and voila so they're kind of like a um rice wrap rice paper wrapping away and perfect how cute are they okay so they're all wrapped and now it's time to dig in how cute are they so dip it in the Asian sauce hmm so crunchy they're delicious .

Banana Granola (Oat Free Granola!) (Vegan, Paleo, Gluten-free)

hi everyone its Adriana from living healthy with chocolate today I'm gonna be showing you how to make the most delicious and healthy banana granola let's get started by preheating our oven to 350 degrees and making our banana mixture we need a full cup of banana puree so peel your bananas and mash it with a fork here I'm using a type of bananas called apple bananas they are a common variety here in Hawaii they are small they have a tangy flavor yet they're really sweet they're really delicious and if you can find it where you are make sure to grab some okay so fill your measuring cup and then we turn the puree to the bowl now I the cinnamon vanilla powder melted coconut oil and salt now we need to coarsely chop the caches and the seeds and I'm using my food processor but you can use just a knife add the chopped cashews and seeds to a very large bowl and then mix in the shredded coconut chia seeds and coconut sugar now we just need to stir everything together until everything is well combined as always you can find this recipe on my blog and I'm leaving the link to the post in the description of this video top a few large dates and add it to the mixture the dates are one of my favorite things about this granola it adds a chewy texture and a delicious sweet taste now stir in the banana mixture until everything is combined now spread the mixture evenly in a cookie sheet that's lined with parchment paper here the pan am using is 11 by 17 inches cover the pan with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes then remove the foil and bake for another 15 minutes keep a close eye on it so that it doesn't burn let it cool in a cooling rack for five minutes and chop it into pieces I personally like leaving a few larger chunks but it's up to you this granola is crispy it's crunchy it's much better for you it's got a mild banana flavor and it's not too sweet if you do like your granola a little bit sweeter feel free to add more sweetener but the fact that it's not just sweet is what I love about it my personal favorite way to enjoy this granola is sprinkled over some acai you know I'm from Brazil and I love acai it's actually pronounced acai not acai I actually have a traditional acai recipe for you on my vlog and I can leave the link to that post below so try this recipe at home it's delicious sprinkled over some ice cream or your favorite yogurt let me know what you think if you have any questions or comments please leave them below and if you liked this video give it a thumbs up and don't forget to subscribe to my channel if you make this recipe or any of my recipes please post a photo on my blog so I can see thank you guys and I'll see you next time bye .

Day 3 Paleo Challenge: Honey Glazed Chicken Thighs and Roasted Veggies

okay well here we are again guess what we have two microphones now fancy so here's the deal we both just got home from work we're both tired we both don't want to do this but guess what we're gonna eat so this is a video of us just making dinner so tonight we are gonna have roasted vegetables the best roasted vegetables any recipe actually but it combines a whole bunch of vegetables it'll be a sheet pan has broccoli cauliflower Brussels sprouts sweet potatoes beets a bubble garlic awesome and chicken thighs yes they are paleo honey glazed chicken thighs sweet and I get to use my Gigantor new skillet again so let's make dinner so here's a protip a biohacking tip if you will that's for you Eric Richards my fellow biohacker did you know that broccoli in particular and I can't think of a name of the nutrient that does it but there is a nutrient in broccoli that up regulates a pathway in your body called the nrf2 pathway why is that important you asked so for years and years and years we have thought that antioxidants were the way to go to decrease inflammation and we're starting to understand this nrf2 pathway better that basically stimulates your body to produce its own antioxidants so rather than taking grams of vitamin C you might be able to get away with the vitamin C from an orange and eating something like broccoli to help upregulate this nrf2 pathway so your liver can make more of this lovely stuff called glutathione and that can help with a lot of different chronic conditions here that when I talk nerd it turns her wrong plan on more nerd videos tonight on Kevin Brady OHS Paleo kitchen we chop vegetables and talk like dorks and talk like monster truck announcers did you see Jenny's comment so Jenny my sister loved you says it says that Billy says her pro tip is when we scrape the cutting board he's great with the back of the knife so dull the front of a knife that is true I did my mom really genius but I just forgot thank you thank you I can't guess what I just got back from Schrute farms beets two plates of veggies you know what that means leftovers kind of make myself more excited about leftovers I don't like it I am grumpy about them even though they're so good they are very good for you and they save you a ton of money because you know who doesn't want to save money I guess what I've had zero carbs today hey do you need to wear safety goggles and gloves apparently I do I need some safety Bueller dadgum I did it again oh my goodness please refer to the sign in the back window says homemade with love in other words I lick the spoon and keep using it so yeah I just looked myself awesome glad this isn't a restaurant did you just see that garlic applying that what's epic it would have only been better if it had actually hit you in the face [Laughter] turns out peeling these garlic I'm sure there's a pro tip for these I've never known it that yeah so if you have a pro tip for peeling garlic would you please let us know we'll feature you with all of our 31 followers these artists don't know what they're missing they really don't they're just eating their McDonald's and not knowing why they don't feel good we should talk about that for a second okay just because you don't have a food allergy to Dairy does it mean you should consume it correct now that was a question to you it wasn't a question yeah does it mean you should consume it no you should not let's get a little nerd taco my turn you on again alright so here's the deal this is not my doctor platform so I can say whatever I want right just that person the two biggest lies in the medical community that we're being fed are number one that cholesterol is bad that is false fact I will interject this little state now if your cholesterol is below 150 Cameron goes really bad I'm just kind of sitting here on my own but anyway if you if your cholesterol drops 150 your chances of chronic disease triples your great book that you should read it's called the great cholesterol myth and then you can join me because I am a redneck and a conspiracy theorist no really cholesterol is not bad for you you need to eat it you need to consume it and we'll talk about that later the second one is that milk does a body good milk does not do a body good and here is why back in the eighteen hundred's this guy named Louie Pasteur discovered that if he heat milk up they keep killing the bacteria but it kills the bacteria it would last longer unfortunately what he didn't plan on was when you cook milk to pasteurize it you kill the enzymes that your body needs to digest it so you can't digest it and your body recognizes those proteins as undigestible proteins and stimulates an autoimmune react can stimulate an autoimmune reaction and what might that look like no it could be anything from headaches to vision problems to weight gain to diabetes to upset stomach upset stomach is gonna be more of the lactose intolerant lactose intolerant people lack the enzyme called lactate them break it down lactose and that will cause them I want to know we're gonna see people because we're doing strict paleo right now and if his gas is diminished then I'm right farting is good for you when you have healthy gut bacteria they make gas hmm it's a gift you can I quote one of my favorite movies I don't know Canyon is it Hopkins a quote is appropriate but the movies not this is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen it's beavis and butt-head I don't need to admit high intelligence with high brow low class that's how I roll say that all again it's gonna be a little different way to roast veggies babe typically we do garlic or we do some maple but guess what just salt and pepper there is garlic fresh garlic on here though it's bound to be delicious into the oven they go at 400 degrees for woosh good thing we're gonna do those smoothie appetizers so here's a personal moment I quite enjoy fishing I used to be a guide I go quite regularly and Justin my oldest stepson went fishing today went fly-fishing that's the only way I know how to fish and he went with his grandfather and my dear friend for the first time for the first time I'm granted my dear friend is a guide and this was a guided trip for Justin but look at this a clown mask and a very sweet trout no I won't cook it I don't like trout by the way we're not using the highest quality olive oil right now why because when I went to buy olive oil this was the only thing that was available because people were panic buying shockingly they probably didn't buy the extra for novel I don't know why it wasn't there it's gone vegetable oil cleaned out well duh we know why that was what I'm Mitch did you just wake up one of our little adult humans heard that we're having smoothies so he woke up okay the vinegars in did you have any a teaspoon out of there of course one teaspoon that matches the kitchen sorta these actually look like they're gonna have a good amount of glaze I hate when you do a recipe that's like this doesn't work for this amount of me it's like dry did you start I'm a saucy person saucy and sassy I just like to have a lot like to taste they think hey hey you look beat that's a good sign how was it please note gradients so excited about it is the new pan look at the size of that thing chicken middle rack we have named her birthday dinner is served it is ready and the Wolves have lined themselves up to eat I've tasted all the veggies they're good haven't ya all right delicious oh babe you got to get an arch to it you're thrown to flat I'm not Oh [Laughter] .

Paleo Breakfast Bread Recipe

eating gluten-free doesn't mean you have to skip out on taste that is if you have the right recipe and the right cook I love this woman this is Alana Amsterdam and she is a gluten-free cookbook author you have two cookbooks out right now and we're going to be cooking something today from the Paleo diet that goes one step beyond that gluten-free and we're going to talk about that but Alana what are we going to be cooking today Joanna today we're going to make paleo breakfast bars a finished product they're delicious they're low glycemic high in protein we're starting with a bowl of almond butter high protein almond almond butter full of heart-healthy good fats adding some high protein eggs and we have to point out you actually do have a cookbook out there that's all about cooking with that almond flour I cook with almond butter what does that mean does it add more nutrition to your cook well first of all I think what's most important for any chef is that it tastes great and my husband and kids love it yeah second of all very high in protein and heart-healthy fats which I mentioned I also like to use coconut flour which is high in fiber I basically want to stay away from your traditional gluten-free flours like rice flour details our potato starch because those spike your blood sugar then leave you with that high carb hangover feeling what you really don't want to get out of Yui yeah and when you're eating a lot of the processed foods when you're doing the gluten-free diet that's really all that's out there right house so you're giving me an option yes if you hit the nail on the head those foods are highly processed I'm adding in pure vanilla and stevia which is a super low glycemic sweetener and that will just kick up the taste and flavor of the honey a little bit yeah then we're going to add in I'm cinnamon and I use an entire tablespoon of cinnamon and so good for you so good for you and that also helps with your glycemic index and stabilizes blood sugar and it also makes food a lot sweeter so I just try and spike things with cinnamon anytime I can't all that looks so yummy yeah this recipe for paleo breakfast bars is just has the perfect flavor with the cinnamon then we're going to add our salt and our baking soda okay and you keep mixing there I'm going to ask you a lot of people are probably asking themselves what is the Paleo diet it's gluten-free but as I said one step beyond so explain to us well the Paleo diet basically we haven't changed that much since Paleolithic times which is made man tais two and a half million years ago there were cavemen you and I basically have very similar genes to those cavemen however the diet that we're eating today is radically different and I believe in other people also believe that those of us who are going from Doctor to doctor with unrelenting undiagnosable health conditions who simply may not have the genes that adapt us to eat grains and greens are really new to our diets from where you were telling rates are very new the Agricultural Revolution which was one cereal grains were introduced was only ten thousand years ago we've been around 2.5 million years that's less than 1% of our existence Wow so the other thing I love about the Paleo diet and these kinds of recipes is you're not just getting rid of the grains which can be inflammatory and difficult to digest for people like myself I've been on the Paleo diet for about 11 years now you're also cutting out all those junky processed food right it's kind of fake food and you're even cutting out rice which was surprising yes I cut out rice potatoes corn beans so everything I'm eating is extremely nutritionally dense and high in protein and good fats so this is our batter and here's just another version of our batter and we're gonna put it into a pan Hey baking dish that I greased with coconut oil YUM which is a lovely oil that is very good for you and we're going to bake these and you have all of the recipes on your website yeah those up at the NS Dianna's Alana's pantry calm and you also have two great books we're gonna bring those up one of them is cupcakes free cupcake free cupcake and the other one is gluten free almond flour gluten free on the flour cookbook and you give some advice on how to find that almond flour right actually on my website Alana's pantry com I linked to all the challenging to find ingredients yeah so that you can just in the click of your mouse go straight to a place where you can purchase them I always select the highest-quality ingredients for the best prices okay I'm a dive into that's our finished product I can chase the cinnamon out I love it and she also brought me some cookies today I brought you some superfood cookie I'm not sharing those with my kids I'm just high-protein chocolate chip cookies made with dark chocolate and high protein almond flour dark chocolate is antioxidant rich genetic you know a health food well I just love all this I'm gonna take it to my party that I'm having this weekend great it's gonna be fabulous Thank You Alana thanks Jillian as I'm eating I'm gonna give you more information on her recipes and her menus and her cookbooks she has this awesome website it's Alana's pantry got to pronounce that right Alana's pantry dot-com and you're gonna get all the information you need right there .

The BEST Grain Free Banana Bread (Paleo, Gluten Free, Dairy Free)

okay so two and a half cups of almond flour in here and I'm going to add in a half a teaspoon of baking soda I'm gonna add in one teaspoon of vanilla extract 1/4 of a cup of coconut oil that's been melted and I'm adding in about two tablespoons of honey you actually don't even really need to add in the honey depending on how sweet / ripe with the bananas you're using are two eggs I'm gonna crack in here and I just want to talk about the bananas so you want the bananas to be very very ripe so as you can see these are basically almost compost there so right so you need four bananas total so I put two and now and they're gonna get completely pureed and blend it into the batter and then I'm gonna save two bananas and put them in at the end just quickly blend so that you get little kind of chunks of banana throughout the bread so I blended it all together and now after it's completely mixed I'm adding in the two bananas and I'm gonna quickly blend it again just til it's gonna bit chunky this is also when you could add in 1/3 of a cup of nuts or chocolate chips okay so I'm making this into banana bread so I'm using a loaf tin but you could also make it into muffins as well if you prefer I'm just going to UM pour a little bit of coconut oil in and just wipe it all around so the batter does not stick once the breads bait so this was baking in the oven for about 45 minutes I'm halfway through I put a sheet of parchment paper over top just because the top was kind of browning quite quickly so now I'm just gonna stick a toothpick in and as you can see it comes out clean so the banana bread is done .

What I Eat in a Day Paleo

hello everyone my name is Tanya and I'm
an integrative health coach today I'm going to be showing you a full day of
eating a paleo so I'm super excited for this this is how I eat it that's what
works best for my body if you're watching this video because you're
feeling overwhelmed on what to eat on the Paleo diet or you just need some new
and fresh ideas then definitely give this video a like and of course don't
forget to subscribe and click the notification bell so you don't miss any
future videos on the Paleo diet so for breakfast today I'll be making a Mexican
egg scramble this is so good guys I love any type of like Mexican bowl creation
and honestly this is really really good so I'm just slicing up a sweet potato
I'm doing it I like peeled it doing it it the slices and then flipping it over
doing it into fries and eventually little cubes and when I am cooking them on the
stovetop I try to make the cubes as as small as possible so that it cooks a
little bit a faster so nice and fine alright now I'm gonna get the stovetop
going so I'm getting out a pan and adding some coconut oil in there that's
like my oil of choice and that's the one I use there make sure to swirl it around
and you're good to add your sweet potatoes don't forget to put the cover
as well I do feel like it really helps with the cooking process because this
steam also cooks sweet potatoes alright while the sweet potatoes are
getting a head start I'm slicing a red a bell pepper and do some slices and then
rotate that around and just chop them up in little dices also have a red onion
here and some organic cherry tomatoes now no judging on the onion cutting I
feel like everyone does it differently but hey feel free to give me a score on
a scale of one to ten I feel like I'm winning though because I haven't cut a
finger off yet also slicing some cherry tomatoes I'm
not a huge fan of cook tomato so I'm keeping it minimal but of course you
could always add more if you really like them all right then we're going to check
up on our sweet potatoes everything looks good then you can add the veggies
in there mix it all in and add some salt this is the type of salt that I
like to use it's just a brand by Costco then I add some pepper and it's from the
same brand and then oh look at that I'm gonna give it one last stir and then add
some spinach afterwards so yeah I'm adding this whole box that's the great
thing about greens it will like wilt down so you cannot eat a ton I
definitely recommend putting the lid on as well it's going to help for that I'm
struggling a little bit here to separate out the spinach once it has cooked but
don't worry I eventually figured it out everything worked out alright everything
is ready so I'm going to take most of the veggies out because I will store it
in the glass container for the rest of the week so that I don't have to chop
veggies every morning and I can just quickly like put the veggies in the pan
and crack a couple eggs like you see me doing right here and then just a
scramble it this is what happens when I'm cooking and I leave a cupboard open
especially the one what is a food in so he sneaks in and try to get some treats
usually he like Chuck's it off the shelf and hopes that it will open as it falls
but don't worry about Wes I end up giving him a treat anyways he
it's hard you know all right so we are done here it looks good but we are not
done yet I am gonna add some fresh cilantro and some Frank's hot sauce I
mean you can't really have a Mexican Bowl without some hot sauce that's the
finished product it looks awesome beautiful YUM super excited to eat this my lunch on most days is one big salad
bowl I find that if I just keep that consistent that I get a lot of
vegetables in my day so you know for dinner or something like that I don't
have a ton of veggies at least I know that I had a salad for lunch so the base is
always some greens I always have some greens in the fridge and I also like to
keep ingredients prepped in the fridge as much as possible especially when I'm
working from home like I don't have a ton a time for lunch so those are
spiralized zucchini like comes in really really handy same for the salmon I
already had it cooked I had to warm it up in the oven and then
I'm slicing up an avocado. Avocados are such a good food to add in your diet I
love them because first of all they're just nice and creamy, they taste so good
and they're super filling I'll usually have like at least half an
avocado or maybe even a full one during the day if I don't have it with
breakfast like this morning I didn't have breakfast and I'll definitely have
it for lunch and sometimes I even have it in like a side salad
with dinner. So for the dressing I keep things like a super super simple it
usually I always add salt and pepper because why not it enhances the taste
and this is my favorite oil to use as a dressing it's avocado oil it's really
nice it's nice and mild I don't mind olive oil but yeah that's
just my favorite one it's a little drizzle of that and that's it guys so
it's a super simple lunch especially if you have everything prepped in advance
then you just have to like put the bowl together and eat. Hey guys I'm just
sitting here enjoying my I just want to talk about it so I have the zucchini,
avocado, the salmon and the greens. usually I would also have a source of
carbs but since I had a lot of sweet potatoes in my breakfast I just skipped
on that so it was more of like a high protein high fat lunch which is honestly
probably the best if you're struggling with like lunch instead don't fill you
up having high protein high fat will definitely fill you up so yeah I'm gonna
continue to enjoy that and I just want to let you know what my bowls usually
look like is usually I will have some sweet potatoes in there.

Alright, let's
get Dinner started so I'm you start off by preparing the chicken really simple. I'm going to add the chicken breast in a dish and put some salt and pepper on
there add some foil on there I find that if I
add the foil on top it just kind of keeps this you can press a little bit
moist because the chicken breast can get a little dry and while that's cooking I'm gonna get the
vegetables ready so we got some broccoli, carrots, snow peas, white onion, and garlic
I chopped all of that up and then it's time to add it to the pan so I'm using
some avocado oil as the oil and I added the onions, the garlic sauted that for a bit
and then eventually added these snow peas carrots and broccoli in there as
well and then making sure to mix it all up really well. So once your chickens
ready you can slice it up or shred it whatever it works for you but then yeah
you just add it into the pan with the vegetables and mix it up again all right this is the MVP of this recipe
so this yellow Thai coconut curry by Yai's Thai it is such a great product to have
around the house I freaking love it and it just makes it easy for you to whip up
a quick curry. Those are the ingredients and it is Paleo approved. Hi
guys so I am going to enjoy this and that's probably gonna be the last meal
of the day for me only because I'm not super hungry today and I know this is
gonna fill me up on most days though I will have a snack and I pretty much always
have dessert so if you're interested in seeing more like paleo snack options and

How to Make Paleo Curried Meat Pies | Nom Nom Paleo

hey Noster is its Michelle from nom nom paleo today I'm gonna show you how to make paleo curried meat pies which is the dish that was influenced by something my mom used to make for me as an after-school snack SuperDuper simple so what you need is some cassava flour some arrowroot powder is in softened e a little bit of turmeric just to make it nice and golden to show everyone is making a curried pie some eggs some salt and then some leftover film so what I have here is my spiced keema or deconstructed samosa recipe from the blog but you know I've done this with whatever I have in the fridge and it all comes out delicious just make sure it's not super wet and it'll come out just fine so whenever I do a baking recipe for consistency I like to actually weigh out the amounts of the flour and then you can keep on tearing it or zeroing it out and adding the next thing and you don't have to actually clean all these different bowls but here thats on the flour add in a little bit of powder a lot of people ask can I use tapioca flour in place with the cassava flour the answer is no because the tapioca flour is just the starch part of the cassava flour you want the whole root because that is actually more similar to all-purpose turmeric powder that really is just for color and that reminds me of the ones my mom made and the ones we would buy we always knew that was record me pies because they were nice and orange to eggs this is where we get our hands dirty just in and you're just gonna eat everything until it's a nice shaggy dough I only using my hands as really feel the things are getting mixed together and the turmeric also helps see that everything is being mixed properly because then everything turns nice change Warren G so once you see that you have this crumbly and of shaggy dough grab these bed rad about half a cup of water but you don't dump it all in at once kind of dump in a little bit at a time and then you just kind of eat it and form it into a ball and you'll procreate all that water in yeah a little bit more water and eventually it's gonna be like a smooth ball and it's gonna be the consistency of play-doh see here your hands shouldn't stick to it you should be able to form a nice smooth ball like this I like to divide the dough in half because it's easier to work with and half of the dough will make enough pies for one training anyways so the one that I'm not working with and then the one you are gonna work with I lay down some papers put one in the middle grab rolling pin or you can use a water bottle whatever you have rolled out looks about 1/8 inch thick so I grabbed a four and a half inch little high cutter and then I press okay and I try to make as many as possible so I go right up to the edge pick up the scraps rolled it out to make more yet your leftover filling which should be cold a little talk and you don't want to be too crazy with the filling a little bit just pinch this stuff and don't worry if there's some cracking I'll just seal the ends together you don't even need any egg wash or anything then you put them on parchment lined doing it with the rest of your little fellas so the last step before you pop these in the oven is you whisk up an egg to make an egg wash and brush the tops wouldn't add enough so that the whole thing is covered but not too much because you don't want to be a subunit and the last step is each one use a sharp knife well then if you already have some cracks in here this is just to make sure that the steam escape I knew is one make sure that you just bake however many you need at a time you don't want to just cram this with as many pies as possible you don't want to put two or three trays in the oven at a time just do one at a time he'll be worth it so I'm gonna pop this into a 400 degree oven for about 15 minutes and then I'm gonna just turn the tray about 180 degrees and cook it for about 10 minutes more and they should be nice and brown and golden so I've let these pale oak red meat pies cool down a bit you can see that they're perfectly golden all over the nice crunchy crust yes some of them may've split a little bit that's okay these are rustic we shouldn't be caught up about how things look it's what's inside that counts right so you guys should totally make these pale and creamy pies and fill them with whatever leftovers you have just for variety so if you want the room speed just head on over to my site nom nom paleo calm you .
