Video Description:

Friends welcome to episode 1 of our Christmas recipe countdown. With Christmas just 20 days away, I know you're all beginning to think about putting together your winter menu. With shopping days and pantry stocking just around the corner, I'm bringing you one recipe you won't want to miss out on: the one pan chicken dinner.

I often get asked about how to build a flavorful and delicious dish all in one pan without having to dirty up the entire kitchen. This is the ideal recipe to showcase some of your chicken cooking skills, knife work, and easy veggie prep. It all comes together in one skillet (make sure it's oven safe!) and you're done in just the time it takes to sear the chicken and roast the whole thing off in the oven. Check out the recipe below or on my blog!

Recipe:

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 1 hour

Skill Level: Medium

Serves: 4

Ingredients:

4 bone-in skin-on chicken thighs
2 medium sweet potatoes, chopped into 1″ pieces
3 cloves garlic, smashed
2 cups brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
1 medim red onion, sliced thin, leaving root end intact
1 small bunch rosemary, fresh
Salt and pepper (plenty of each to season)
3 Tbsp olive oil

Method:

Preheat oven to 425F. Pat chicken thighs dry and season liberally with salt and pepper.

Add 1.5 Tbsp olive oil to a cast iron skillet or other oven proof pan. Heat over medium, then add chicken thighs. Sear for 3 minutes on the first side.
Remove chicken to a plate. Place veggies, garlic, rosemary, and an additional 1.5 Tbsp olive oil in the pan. Return chicken, raw side down, to the pan. Drizzle with a bit more olive oil.
Place entire pan in the oven for 35-40 minutes or until chicken is completely cooked through.
Serve chicken family style with roasted veg.

Crispy Chicken Wings (Baked not Fried!!) Gluten Free, Paleo & Whole30 | Episode 15

what's the word for that - that is not working - hi everybody welcome to health coach TV I'm Alex and this is the show where I show you how to cook healthy food that doesn't suck today we're going to be making some crispy chicken wings they are going to be spicy they are going to be delicious and they're also going to be paleo and whole 30 approved can it get better than that?

it is possible to have crispy chicken wings without breading and deep frying it i promise you're gonna see - the things you're going to need for this recipe are a pound of organic chicken wings salt baking powder Korean chili flakes or paprika hot sauces of your choice that's it it's really easy I promise so take your chicken and the first thing you want to do is like dry it off it was very moist when they took it out of the bag always make sure you buy organic please please please please please for so many reasons but I just think it tastes better too so our chickens is dry we're going to take our baking powder put two heaping table spoons into our Bowl the reason that we're using baking powder is that it has this weird chemical reaction with the skin of the chicken that's how it gets crispy - science so now I'm going to take my pepper flakes and I'm going to do one regular sized tablespoon of that we're going to be adding a little hot sauce at the end too so I don't want to overpower it before we even get started and salt and then we're just going to mix this up I got dust flying everywhere add your chicken this goes immediately to get cleaned and mix it up now the funny thing that you're going to notice is that when the chemical reaction starts to happen you'll actually hear it you can hear it's like a snap crackle pop you can actually hear it happening it's pretty cool it's like sizzling okay so now we have some really dry unappetizing looking wings you're welcome what do we need to do now now I need to line a baking sheet because the less cleaning we can do is always the best amount of cleaning zero amount of cleaning is the best amount of cleaning you want to take a rack and put it on top of your sheet if you have a rack and a pan that actually fit together use those mine is slightly makeshift pre-heat your oven to 425 degrees I'm going to toss these one more time there's definitely some extra breading left at the bottom which is fine but if I can get a little bit more on there's nothing wrong with that either just take your wings and lay them out on the baking sheet I don't think it really matters which side up which side down some are drumstick some are wings but you want to give them all a little bit of room some space to breathe so that the heat can get all the way around them make room for your friends they're coming to the party so we've got our wings all ready going to put it in the pr-heated oven for 20 minutes then we're going to flip it another 20 minutes flip it again and then keep cooking it that way until it's done it's been 20 minutes let's check on our wing always use protection okay these look really good so far they're starting to kind of crisp up on the bottom side so they're still pretty dry on both sides but what we want to do is flip them all over so that both sides get cook evenly you'll notice the side on the bottom looks a little bit less white and powdery and the side on the top still looks pretty much exactly the same as it did when we took it out of the bowl but that's okay we still got some time to cook so now everything has been flipped throw it back in the oven for another 20 minutes in ya go buddies we've got a couple minutes until the wings are ready so in the meantime we're going to get the sauce prepped that we can toss the wings in the sauce when they're ready duh the typical buffalo chicken wing sauce is a whole bunch of melted butter with just a bunch of hot sauce why add all the butter and extra calories and cholesterol go right for the flavor get that hot sauce on there in this bowl put a bunch of hot sauce I told you this recipe is dead easy so just for the sake of it I'm going to measure for the first time ever on health coach TV we're using measuring devices while cooking isn't this exciting ok so I put about half of a corner because Frank's and now i'm going to put the rest in just regular tobacco any vinegar based hot sauce is good both Frank's and Tabasco are paleo and while 30 approved really what that just means is that there's no sugar in either of these our incredibly complicated sauce has been assembled and now we just wait for the chicken wings to be ready what's the internal temperature of a cooked chicken wings thank you google 180 degrees Fahrenheit when those chicken wings come out of the oven we're going to test them if they're 180 degrees Fahrenheit then they're done if not we'll throw them back in the oven for a little bit I don't know where my thermometer I'm in 13 seconds hmm hello let's do this so as you can see these all have a really nice crispy skin on them which is amazing I'm going to get into the chicken wings whenever you're cooking meat you always want to check the internal temperature because that's really the only way that you're gonna know that they're done and these are definitely done coming in at like over 200 degrees way more than done perfect no food poisoning from me so we're just going to take our chicken and put it right into our souce maybe i should have greased this first some of them are coming out fine and some of them are a little bit sticky so all of the chicken into the cause bowl it's pronounced sauce not sauce like you might think then we're going to toss them up literally oh god I'm wearing a white shirt I can use utensils instead of flare even though my flare is mad strong these look pretty tasty I always woah saved the shirt saved the shirt okay I need a bigger bowl all right take 2 these look really good and they smell really good you could add more hot sauce if you want *cough* that's like potent check them out they look like awesome chicken wings don't they look amazing these paleo whole30 approved chicken wings are absolutely delicious they were dead easy this recipe it's got like no ingredients in it you're going to WoW everybody they're gonna be like wow did you order those from a store I made them from scratch no way way I totally made them from scratch no way they are too good to be made from scratch thanks guys I just whipped them up for the full recipe click on the links below if you like this video be sure to give it a thumbs up Paleo Meal Planning :: 20 Dishes (Prep a Week of Meals in 60 Minutes)

hi guys I'm so excited to show you a sneak peek at the brand new dashboard that 20 dishes is launching for their members this is going to be launching in the very near future probably in the next few days to a week at the most we're really really excited about it because it is going to make managing your weekly meal plans your prep list your shopping list and everything so much easier so essentially you're going to have your own custom dashboards so when you log in you're going to see your pretty little dashboard with your menu your step-by-step prep your shopping list and your options over here so the cool thing about this plan on how this is laid out here is you can do a lot of adjusting you can add recipes you can add notes to your days and really customize what you want for your meal plan for the week so say you wanted to use this recipe for the crock pot roast and you want to actually do that on Wednesday you would just write it down throw it on Wednesday and it moves it down there say you wanted to come over here and you want to maybe add a new recipe in or add a note so you would just click on this little plus sign here and it's going to bring up the recipe section say you wanted to add maple chili chicken to that day you would just click on the plus sign to throw that into your menu so we'll just do that for a quick example and boom there you've got maple chicken chili and then say you want to make a note you would click on the plus sign again and go over here to add notes and say you wanted to make extra for leftovers you would just type in whatever your notes need to be here it could be pull the chicken out of the freezer or make extra for guests that I whatever your notes need to be you're going to click the add notes and that's going to put that in that day so you could go through and really customize your meal plan for the entire week so that you're organized everything is streamlined and it's going to save you a lot of time so we also have this step-by-step instructions which we have provided for all of the menus that 20 dishes creates but that's going to be on this own tab now and all of this stuff your meal plan your prep step-by-step prep your shopping list everything is printable with this print icon so you can just click on the printer and it'll print everything out all nice and pretty so you have your step-by-step instructions going to have your shopping list which is really cool too because we've added some features here where say you need to get four avocados that week maybe for some other recipes or just for snacks you would just type in the little boxes there and you can add whatever you need to add so you can go through here and really customize your shopping list so that you don't forget anything at the store because there's nothing more frustrating than going shopping getting the stuff for the week getting home and realizing that you've left a few things at the store that you completely forgot to get I hate doing that so you can go through here and customize anything that's on the pre-made shopping list and then if you have some stuff that's not on the list you can also add in your additional items here and all of this will print out whenever you print it off a little print icon and the last thing that's really cool is this option section so you can go through here and you can set the recipes say you have a really big family and you need all of the servings for our or you need all of the recipes to come out to 10 servings for every recipe you can easily adjust that or if you're a small family or maybe just cooking for yourself you can alter that down to you know just one or two or three servings so this is a really cool feature on also you have the ability here to choose which menus you see in your meal plan area so you can choose to see the paleo the AIP or the fodmap meal plans so that's another really cool feature that's going to help you really streamline your meal planning experience our whole goal with 20 dishes is to get you in and out of the kitchen as fast as possible so I can't wait for the sash board to roll out for all of our members it's going to be really really soon and I know it's going to make your life so much easier if you have any questions make sure you leave me a comment down below and let me know or you can always shoot me an email I would be happy to answer all of your questions but I'm super excited about this and I hope you are too I will talk to you again soon .

Sticky Portuguese Low Carb / Paleo Chicken Wings

today I'm going to show you to make these really easy sticky Portuguese chicken wings they're low-carb and there's also a paleo option okay so here's what I used the original recipe just called for 12 to 14 chicken wings it didn't specify a weight the package that I found in the store was one and a half kilos which is about three point three pounds and they're quite large as you can see so there's only actually nine here but it's a lot of chicken they're very big so that's what I'm using and now you're going to need olive oil I'm using or you could use coconut oil idea if you prefer you need two teaspoons for the marinade and extra for frying if you're going to fry them now also for the marinade two cloves or two teaspoons of garlic minced the zest of one lemon and the juice of half of that lemon two teaspoons of tomato paste then we need 2/3 of a teaspoon ground coriander seeds I won't look at whole seeds so I'm going to have to grind those myself 2/3 TSP of onion powder one and a half tablespoons of you could use coconut aminos or tamari if you want a paleo I'm using soy sauce and then 2/3 of a teaspoon of salt ok so if you haven't already washed the chicken wings and Pat them dry with paper towels I've already done that and then we're gonna need a large mixing bowl to mix together the marinade ingredients so I happen to have this little handy dandy a little it's like a little grater really for zesting the lemon you can also purchase lemon zest in some areas already in a dry seasoning mix if you have that that's fine too you don't want to get too far into the white bits those are a little bit bitter you just want the top part the yellow and do the whole so that's how much as you can see I got off of there Oh about a tablespoon and a half or so I'd say now we just need half that lemon juice so I'm just using one of these little hand juicers so now in our mixing bowl we're just gonna mix the marinade ingredients so then again is two cloves or about two teaspoons if you're using the Jarrah stuff like I am minced garlic next we'll add the zest of the lemon and the juice of that half the lemon next is two teaspoons of tomato paste now I'm using one of these packets that has actually two tablespoons in I'm just gonna I it up about two tablespoons of it that's pretty good next we'll add the onion powder and the ground coriander so next is the coconut aminos or tamari or in this case soy sauce and it's one and a half tablespoons and then I'm using olive oil at the end here it's two teaspoons or you could use melted coconut oil or ghee one last was the two-thirds teaspoon of sea salt and I'm gonna mix all that together really well so now we're just gonna add all the chicken wings to it and really move them and rub them around in there to make sure each one gets coated in that seasoning so dudes a pretty big like I said so I'm just gonna keep sort of tossing them around my hand and then mixing them against each other so that seasoning gets everywhere as much as possible so I got em all mixed together really well now I've covered it in plastic wrap because I'm gonna put this in the refrigerator just sweat marinades for maybe at least an hour if you've got time to do that I recommend it if not you can move on to the next step now okay so that's been marinating for an hours I've just pulled those out of the fridge also I've got this large roasting pan that I'm using just in cases in the excess grease I want to have some on the pan but you want one big enough to fit the chicken wings and of course you can line it with foil and spray it with oil you can use a rack if you've got one I've just put some baking paper in here also I've had the oven preheating for about 10 minutes now I'm 190 to 200 Celsius should do it or 380 to about 395 Fahrenheit somewhere in there so I'm just gonna take these now and just put them in the pan try not to have it too close to you and when a little space between them so they can get a little crispy hopefully smelling this smells really good see I'm laying them in there and I want to keep the skin side up to hopefully get crispy so there you can see I've tried not to overcrowd them any more than necessary what I'm gonna do with what's left of this is you can just use a brush or you can just spoon and pour it on whatever works for you I'm just going to go ahead and put the excess right on the chicken so now I'm just gonna pop those in that preheated oven for about 35 to 40 minutes music went in for 40 minutes and looking golden-brown and delicious so there they are sticky Portuguese chicken wings I do hope you enjoy them I'm serving them today with my homemade coleslaw which I've shared on the recipe channel before I'll see if I can link to that for you you .

Video Description:

From: eatdrinkpaleo.com.au
Makes: 3-4 serves of wings

I chose to bake these spicy paleo chicken wings 35-40 minutes at 190-200°C / 380-395°F, as suggested by the author. Instructions below tell you how to fry them, if preferred. The ingredients are for those wanting it Paleo, and my substitutions.

Ingredients
• 12-14 chicken wings (I had 1.5 kg/3.3 lb)
• coconut oil or ghee for cooking (I used olive oil)
For the marinade
• 2 large cloves garlic, grated/minced
• Zest of 1 lemon
• Juice of ½ lemon
• 2 teaspoons tomato paste
• ⅔ teaspoon ground coriander seeds
• ⅔ teaspoon onion powder
• 1½ tablespoon coconut aminos or Tamari (I used soy sauce)
• 2 teaspoons melted coconut oil (I used olive oil)
• ⅔ teaspoon sea salt

Instructions
1. Wash and pat dry the chicken wings.
2. Combine marinade ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Add chicken wings and mix through with your hands, coating each wing thoroughly with the mixture. Ideally, leave to marinate for about an hour. Otherwise, get to cooking.
3. Heat a tablespoon of coconut oil or some ghee in a large frying pan to medium hot. Place chicken wings skin side up first. Don't overcrowd the pan as we don't want to stew them. Cook on medium heat for six minutes. After about two minutes of cooking, cover the pan with a lid.
4. After six minutes, turn the wings over and add a little more oil if needed. Once again, cook uncovered for about two minutes and then with a lid on for about four minutes. Covering the pan with a lid provides a little steaming environment, which keeps the wings nice and soft. Make sure the heat is not too high as we don't want to burn the wings.
5. Serve with some greens and extra lemon on the side.

Nutritional Stats:
The author called for 12-14 wings - but sometimes wings are huge and sometimes they’re smaller. I happened to find a package that weighed 1.5 kg (3.3 lb) but only had 9 wings, as they are huge. You may get a different number depending on size. The original recipe didn’t include nutritional stats, so my estimate using what I used is as follows, divided by both 3 and 4 serves.

Recipe divided by 3 serves, each has: 1090 calories, 49.8g fat, 12g sat fat, 9.3g carbs, 4g fiber, 146.1g protein.

Recipe divided by 4 serves, each has: 817 calories, 37.3g fat, 9g sat fat, 7g carbs, 3g fiber, 109.6g protein.

Paleo Chicken Korma

.

Video Description:

In this video, I go through the few short steps to making a homemade paleo chicken korma curry. It is a fantastic dish that is packed full of flavor. This recipe is undoubtedly a must-try for any curry lover.

Full Recipe:

The standard recipe will feed about 4 people, but if you’re looking to bulk it out a bit, then adding some vegetables is a great way to achieve this. Just keep in mind vegetables like carrots and sweet potatoes will require extra cooking time.

If you want the full list of ingredients for this curry, then you can find it below.

1 Tbsp coconut oil
1 onion, diced
1 Tbsp ginger, crushed
2 tsp garlic, crushed
1 Tbsp tomato paste
500g (1.1 lb) chicken breasts, cubed
½ Tbsp chili
¼ cup ground almonds
400ml (13.5 oz) can coconut cream
½ Cup Chicken Stock

Spice Mix
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp garam masala
1 tsp turmeric, ground
2 tsp cumin, ground
2 tsp coriander seeds, ground

There are many reasons why you should make a curry paste from scratch, but the main reason is so you know what has gone into it. Many supermarket brands have a lot of additives in them to help extend shelf life, improve flavor, and more. The downside is these additives are typically not paleo-friendly and can do you more harm than good.

Cauliflower rice is the perfect side to go with this dish. It is light and well worth putting the extra time in to make. One thing I love about cauliflower rice is that it doesn’t tend to make you bloated like regular white rice.

If you’re looking for a side to go with this dish, then something like the easy cauliflower rice is perfect. It’s very much like rice but instead is incredibly light and won’t leave you feeling bloated.

I hope that his paleo chicken korma curry turns out as awesome as it did for me. If you have any feedback, tips, or anything else that you would like to share, then please don’t hesitate to leave a comment below.

Paleo Sweet & Sour Chicken

.

Video Description:

In this video, I make a delicious paleo sweet and sour chicken. It requires a little bit of work, but the end result is totally worth it.

Recipe:

You can make this dish a lot easier by merely not coating the chicken. This will save in time and make the recipe quite a bit healthier. The downside is that you won’t end up with lovely crispy chicken.

One of the best things about this dish is how well it is the next day. You can quickly reheat it in either a frypan or microwave. Both will work just fine, but the frypan is the way to go if you don’t like using microwaves.

This dish is great by itself, but if you are looking for something to go with it, then you should try coconut rice. It’s super easy to make, and the end result is incredibly tasty.

If you need a list of ingredients for this paleo-friendly sweet and sour chicken, then you can find all you need to know right below.

440g (15 ½ Oz) can Pineapple Pieces with unsweetened juice (Don’t drain)
1 onion, quartered
1 tsp ginger, minced
1 large red bell pepper, chopped
3 Tbsp honey
4 Tbsp tomato Paste
2 Tbsp coconut Aminos
¼ cup apple cider vinegar
500g (1.5 lb) chicken thigh, cubed
2 eggs
1 cup tapioca starch
1 tsp salt
½ tsp pepper

Coconut aminos are pretty important, so if you're able to pick it up, you will be glad you did. It's just a soy alternative since soy sauce is not allowed on the paleo diet.

You might think this dish is a bit light in vegetables if this the case, then feel free to add more. There are quite a few different vegetables you can add, such as carrots, bok choy, and much more.

That’s all I really have to say for this paleo sweet and sour chicken recipe. I really hope that it works out to be as great as it was for me. If you have some tips, suggestions or something else that you would like to mention, then please don’t hesitate to leave a comment below.

BEST HEALTHY BROCCOLI SOUP | paleo, dairy-free, gluten-free

*music* Hi this is Steph from StupidEasyPaleo.com and today we're making my Comforting Creamy Broccoli Soup aka
Crack Soup. This is one of my favorite soups ever. If you know me you know how
much I love soup. This one is perfect if you're dairy-free.
It tastes just like a cream of broccoli soup but without the dairy or cream. There's no milk so you're able to stick to a dairy-free way of eating.

I
start with a leek. A leek if you've never seen it looks like a green
onion on steroids. It looks exactly the same. It's light green and white on the
bottom and dark green on the top. The trick with a leek though is they get really dirty on the inside.

So what I do is I slice
the leek lengthwise down the middle and then I take those and run them under
the faucet so that I get any grit out because nobody who wants gritty soup. I take that leek and then I chop it up. I also chop up half of a white onion and
then about a pound of broccoli. To the leek, the onion, and the broccoli you're
going to add two cloves of garlic. Then we're going to add the liquids.

The
liquids in this recipe are going to be 4 cups of chicken stock. I would recommend
homemade if you can. If you can't and you have to buy chicken stock from the
grocery store, that's fine. Just try to look for something that's low sodium or
sodium free. That way you can control the saltiness of the broth by adding your
own seasonings at the end.

I also add a cup of coconut milk and that's what
gives it that body, that gives it the creamy texture and the really nice
mouthfeel and flavor without adding any dairy at all. I also like to add (to just
give it that little buttery edge) I like to add a little bit of ghee which is a
clarified butter. You could certainly add add grass-fed butter if you want or you
can just leave that part out but I think that gives it a little secret
creaminess and flavor that you can't get from other types of fats and oils. You're going to add all of that to the pot, and you just
put it on the stove bring it to a boil for about 20 minutes. You going to simmer that until the vegetables are soft.

Then from there carefully add that to a blender. Sometimes I do it
in two batches in case it gets a little bit too full. You're going to
blend that on high for about a minute until the soup is nice and creamy and
you can serve it right from there. Sometimes I like to top this soup with a
little bit of shredded chicken and that makes it a complete meal. You could serve
it alongside a salad and a piece of steak and you're going to have a
delicious weeknight dinner that takes almost no time to prepare.

Video Description:

Comforting Creamy Broccoli Soup is like a warm hug in a bowl. This dairy-free, gluten-free, paleo, whole30 soup comes together in less than 30 minutes. It's packed with veggies and super healthy.

The method is simple: Simmer chopped veggies in gut-soothing chicken broth, add a splash of coconut milk and blend it until it's smooth. I always make a double batch because this soup is so delicious and flavorful. It' earned the nickname Crack Soup because it's so addictive...in a good way!
