hi again this is this is s from snack free today we're going to work on a jello salad um the jello salad is going to be made with gelatin here from the store you can purchase and fruit that you can also purchase from the store and organic fruits no sugar added we have peaches pineapple pears we have cherries and organic juice so these are the items that we will be using so first of all we need to cut the fruit to bite size pieces so it doesn't make any difference if they're large bite size small bite size just so they're bite-sized pieces and then we're going to set them off to the side hi everyone i'm back again um just to show you how we're going to put this jello dish together this is a dish that my kids loved when they were little but we can't eat it now so i have made it so that it is a dish that they're able to eat first of all we're going to take the liquid two cups of juice and put it into a pan we'll get that on the stove to heat up you want that to start simmering but do not let it boil second we'll take the kombucha we're using white soda lemon um flavored kombucha take that put it into a bowl grass-fed gelatin not uh collagen but gelatin actual gelatin you sprinkle that on the top and that will all soak up the moisture and it will bloom i said i don't know if you can see it but it's rising it's getting bigger okay now that the juice is hot you want it to be hot but you don't want it to be oily you will take that juice pour it in over everything you just want to stir it to make sure all the gelatin is dissolved you add your fruit okay and so for filming purposes we've already had one set and we're going to do this so you see all the fruit is suspended in the gelatin so now what we need to do is take this and break up all the justice want to break it up very well you want to break it up into small pieces and small as you can okay now that we've broken up all the gelatin and fruit and it's all sitting in this nice pan our again whip it's kind of like cold wet but it's made from coconut milk you can add as much or as little as you like i am highlighting a lot and then just stir together now that the dish is done we'll plate it up and we'll try it now let's see how it tastes you get the taste of the fruit take some jello and a little bit of sparkle from the kombucha it's a wonderful .

hi everyone up there how's it going hope you're all having a great day welcome back to another edition of what is in my lunch bag this is actually the second time I've ever filmed this video the last what I went to my lunch bag video was like a year ago I filmed it I guess but I always intended to fill more of these so today I'm going to share with you what is in my lunch bag people always ask me where's my lunch bag from and you know what I don't actually know this was my mom's lunch bag and I don't know I like it though it's a good rectangular shape it holds my lunches very well so I've got a bunch of different things here to kind of choose from which is a tip that I have for packing a lunch is to have a good variety of things some things that are salty some things that are savory some things that are a little bit sweet that kind of thing so anyway let's jump in I'm going to start with the very first thing let me just unpack my lunch first and by the way just so you guys know I will sometimes do Instagram live or Facebook live what's in my lunch bag videos or sometimes like little grocery calls so if you want to follow me on those social platforms then you will often see these sorts of videos more often so I've got a container here with two compartments and in it I have some turkey meatballs these are Asian turkey meatballs so basically I just had ground turkey and I rolled them into balls with sesame oil some ginger some salt and pepper and then I just cooked them up and so I'm adding some kind of like leftovers that I'm adding to my lunch today and then I also had roasted up a couple of carrots in the oven and I love roasted carrots I talked about in my recent grocery call how much we love roasted vegetables especially time of year and I actually really like to roast carrots and other veggies with a steak seasoning that's kind of my trick to these carrots there's a Montreal steak seasoning Spergel Donna and then I have a big handful of greens for a salad so this is actually like a pretty compact salad I squished a whole bunch of greens in there a little bit of avocado and I talked to this salad with some hemp seeds and sun-dried cranberries and the dressing that I'm going to use for that at my work I have a bottle of apple cider vinegar and some olive oil so I'll probably just kind of put that on there often what I pack for lunch is very random like I will just kind of grab things and kind of put them together keeps my life simple and I can just take leftovers and throw them in a container and you know whatever it is having greens on hand is really handy for making quick lunches like I did here I literally just grabbed a handful of spring mix topped it with some random things that's my avocado whatever good luck they also got two boiled eggs and boiled eggs are great because they're good whole food rich in protein and good fat so they keep you feeling full and I don't know when I will have these eggs later on or if maybe even before I have that maybe I'll have a couple boiled eggs maybe I'll even have it with the avocado and I like these just with some salt and pepper and I also have now this item that I have here it's a very special recipe it's what my boyfriend Sean and I have lovingly titled the chocolate blob this is the chocolate blob now do not judge a book by it's cover it looks very messy but that's kind of the point of it it's designed to be just like a one Bowl mishmash of essentially chocolate and banana and berries and that's pretty much it so but I will tell you how I did it now the full recipe for this is up on my blog and I highly recommend that you try it because it is so good this chocolate blob is what sometimes I will have for dessert in the evenings or just as a snack in the afternoon in this case I'll probably have this like later on sometime later on today okay so this is what I do now I take one banana I take a couple spoonfuls of nut butter this in here it's almond butter today but sometimes I will use sunflower seed butter and then I take a handful of frozen berries now I usually prefer frozen raspberries but in here today I also have some frozen blackberries and so what I do is they put that in the bowl and I add in a couple spoonfuls of raw cacao powder and some sea salt and that is the key to this recipe the sea salt brings out all the flavors all the sweetness it just makes it taste ten times better when you guys have sea salt to this and I mash it up and it becomes a toggle all it just becomes the most delicious nut buttery sweet banana chocolatey berry Bowl I really don't know what this is it's kind of like a pudding I just love it it's like my favorite thing on the plate I have it in this nice ceramic container with a nice vacuum sealable lid and that's that lastly I have some tea I always like to have tea with me when I'm going to work and when I'm at work this here is try or this team this is by Yoli and I new love this tea I love that it is a caffeine-free tea a lot of Chinese that you find are in black tea which contains caffeine and I don't do too well with caffeine I always avoid caffeine but avoid this it's really quite lovely and it's child which I am all about chai recently posted on my blog a 5-ingredient chai spice mix which I've used in my spicy Thai smooth you guys saw my immune-boosting rings this also is really lovely with coconut milk so I reckon I'm not too and lastly I always have my Potter bottle with me and this is my life Factory water bottle many times you guys have heard me chat about this bottle I love that it's glass so of course you know isn't plastic it does not contain BPA which is always a good thing and an it's wrapped in silicone and I just I have such a special place for this bottle in my heart the point is that I always have water with me and carrying a bottle with me always ensures that I drink plenty of water throughout the day and thankfully where I work we have a reverse osmosis filtration system so I'm able to fill out my water throughout the day with good clean filtered water no this is 22 ounces that's the size of this and I usually drink one to two of these per day so that always comes to be my lunch as well so that's it for today's video just a quick little what's in my lunch bag I hope that you guys found some inspiration in this video in some way or another and yeah let me know what some of your favorite things are to pack for your lunch be sure to give this video a thumbs up if you enjoyed it leave me a comment below ask me any questions that you might have in the comments below I'd be happy to chat and answer any questions and be sure to subscribe to my channel for weekly videos and I will see you guys very soon bye .

hey everyone welcome back to my channel nourished with love my name is Kathleen a love and after last week's video I really started thinking about how meal prep truly is the foundation of a healthy lifestyle at least in the beginning when you are new to whatever switches you're doing or new to whatever foods you're adding into your diet and and it just helps to be prepared like I said last time in order to succeed you need to be prepared and so I wanted to do another one this week but I wanted to focus on what really makes my life easier and that is my breakfasts and my lunches and maybe a snack so for me if I can have those two meals out of the way I don't have to think about it I know what I'm having for the next five days for those meals I can spend the time at the end of the day making a nice meal for myself and my family I don't I actually I really enjoy being in the kitchen if it's not all day it is so if I can have those two meals out of the way my life is so much easier so I'm gonna make a quiche with a hash brown crust so it's gluten free and this is delicious it lasts in the fridge you can microwave it you can put it in the oven the day of when you decide to eat it and it's so good it's hearty and again you don't have to think about it you know that it's good you know that it's healthy and it's ready for you in the fridge you can even eat it cold if you want but I like my warm and then I'm going to do a soup for lunch it's a cauliflower soup with bone broth and that's great because it's so nourishing as I said in the last video I'm really trying to work on my immunity and so I'm trying to add bone broth anywhere I can and soup is amazing for that so I'm gonna do a nice cauliflower blend it up soup with some bacon and then I'm going to do a sweet treat some almond butter some grain free almond butter cookies I have a gnarly sweet tooth and so if I can have those prepared and ready with some good healthy fats in them I am gonna be a happy person and then lastly and this was kind of an impulse add-on I'm gonna cook up some spaghetti squash and show you guys how I cooked my spaghetti squash I have it on hand it needs to get cooked so I might as well just do that and have it as a side later on in the week or just a snack because spaghetti squash is delicious so that's what I have in store for you guys this week please bear with me cooking videos are kind of difficult because my tripod doesn't like bend over at the right angles that I would like it to but I will do my best for you guys I hope that you enjoy and without further ado let's get into the video I first wanted to mention that if you want to make any of the upcoming recipes that you're about to watch that the exact recipes will be in the description below this week I began with a spaghetti squash to begin you're gonna want to pre-heat your oven to 400 degrees carefully slice your spaghetti squash into rounds and scoop out the seeds lay them on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet and brush each side with some olive oil and salt and pepper to taste cutting the spaghetti squash into rounds instead of in half provides you with longer more noodle like strands roast them in the oven for about 35 to 40 minutes flipping after about 25 minutes to peel take a fork and gently shred the strands away from the skin and from this point you can store it in an airtight container for up to 5 days you can eat it as is you can add a sauce to it I actually with these made hash browns out of them which were really really yummy so yeah the options are endless and I hope that you enjoy this one while the spaghetti squash cooked I moved on to the soup so in a large pot heat up three tablespoons of coconut oil and add your diced onions carrots and garlic saute for about five minutes or until the vegetables soften I had it a bit of salt and pepper to soften veggies and then added the cauliflower you'll want to brown the cauliflower before adding your bone broth and water bring to a boil and then reduce heat to a simmer secure with a tight-fitting lid and allow the soup to simmer for about 35 minutes or until the cauliflower is well softened once the soup is done cooking you'll want to blend until smooth using a blender or an immersion blender like me once smooth go ahead and stir in your coconut milk and lots of pepper taste to the soup and add salt as needed from here you can serve as is but I chose to add some crispy bacon and topped with a little bit of shredded cheese and green onions and it kind of gave it like a baked potato feel so really really hearty and delicious while the soup cooked I moved on to the crust of the quiche you want to begin with thawed hash browns be sure to check the ingredient list because many brands tend to sneak in questionable ingredients using a clean kitchen cloth squeeze out all of the excess liquid and put it in a large bowl add 1 egg 2 tablespoons of melted butter a little onion and garlic powder plus some salt and pepper to taste place the hash brown mixture into a well greased baking dish and firmly press down to create a crust like consistency go ahead and pop that into a 400 degree oven for about 25 minutes or until it begins to brown for the filling of the quiche hook up some bacon and in the same pan saute the onions zucchini and garlic in a bit of the leftover bacon fat go ahead and pour some white wine vinegar into the pan this is called deglazing and my favorite way to add some serious flavor once the vegetables are done cooking go ahead and set them aside to allow them to cool while we work on the rest of the quiche Roland in a large bowl go ahead and add eight eggs and one cup of coconut milk beat the eggs until well combined and then stir in one cup of shredded cheese 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning salt and pepper and mix to combine stir in the cooled veggies and pour the mixture into your hash brown crust put into a 400 degree oven and then immediately drop the heat to 350 degrees allow to cook for about 45 minutes or until your quiche is set [Laughter] the last thing I made this week were some grain free almond butter cookies these cookies are a delicious treat but they do have a ton of sugar so carry caution you'll want to start by making a flax egg to make this go ahead and mix 1 tablespoon of ground flax with 3 tablespoons of water and let sit for about 5 minutes in a bowl mix 1 cup of almond butter with 3/4 of a cup plus 2 tablespoons of coconut sugar to that you'll want to add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract 1/2 a teaspoon of baking powder and mix until well combined and lastly you're going to want to mix in your flax egg [Laughter] roll your batter into small balls and place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper press each cookie to flatten and then bake for about 15 minutes at 350 degrees or until browned and crispy that's it for this week you guys I hope that you enjoy this video if you did please give it a thumbs up and subscribe and comment down below let me know if you tried any of these recipes or any recipes you'd like to see me make in the future .

hey guys it's Karen and it's a little bit cooler here today in Colorado so I'm really excited to share with you my paleo pumpkin curry soup it's really easy to make and there's only a few ingredients so all you're going to need is some pumpkin coconut milk a little bit of onion some curry powder sea salt and then you can add in either some chicken stock or some bone broth to bring it to the consistency that you like so as I said it's really easy so let's get going cut your pumpkin in half and roast on a sheet tray in the oven at a high temperature until soft so I some coconut oil in the bottom of my saucepan and I'm going to let the onions sweat and while they're doing that I'm going to add in the pumpkin that I roasted earlier so this is a sugar pie pumpkin and it's a little bit sweeter than the big ones I'm going to add in my curry powder so I'm going to put in a tablespoon then we're going to add in our sea salt or coconut milk and blend it all together with an immersion have all my ingredients in my pot here and I'm going to use my immersion blender to blend everything together blend until it's totally smooth and then if it's too thick you can add in your chicken stock or more bone broth give it a taste and if it needs a little bit more salt that is perfect to me I'm just gonna .

so nice thing about sauteing the onions before before actually starting to cook everything else is that you're heating up the pot so it's actually gonna help everything come to pressure faster correct yeah at this point too if you want to adjust the the feet or the temperature of your saute if you press saute you can then press adjust and you can go more less or normal for intensive purposes for the onions normal works great so another sweet trick that Holly has informed me of is because well this is the second time we've done this video and this is the updated instructions everything's beautiful this way and I found that when I was stirring it the whole thing we just start spinning that's not good so I said that you can just use these paper clips I just hold it right there write media binder clip it also doubles as a money clip cool classy broads like me nice alright we're gonna let that saute okay so now you can hear that it's going still sucking this guy the temperature so we're gonna go ahead and add half of the salt and the rest stay with me till the end just so you can actually adjust all right so just so you can hear me so we're gonna be adding the spices quick and they're gonna get dry and kind of sticky to the bottom and that's fine and then you just you're gonna let that cook until it's fragrant and then you're gonna want to add the coconut milk so it's gonna relatively quickly so I thought I'd tell you about coconut milk a little bit so brant brands are gonna make the product white a bit different so they're a roadie is the one that we prefer this brand that we found and a lot of the other may be less popular ones are just not they don't separate as much like this is as thick as as it gets so so it just doesn't get that thick it doesn't separate very well they're both really runny you just don't end up with as good and then product yeah it's not it doesn't like the sauce isn't thick and just kind of sucks so this is the row ID you can see that's separated we had this one in the fridge I believe for a couple hours and then so the creamy part separates and comes to top so the nice and easy way of kind of getting the liquid part first is if you actually flip it over and open it from the bottom and then the liquid parts gonna be right there you just pour it in good to go okay so the onions are translucent can I add the spices now look how beautiful that is all right so we're gonna cook the spices a little bit and that brings out the flavor and also integrates it into the oils that are in there and it smells amazing now it already did because well I like the smell of sauteing onions and I have so this is the liquid part of the coconut milk so the cream we have set aside for the end which we will add at the end so that we can thicken the sauce up and it's gonna be beautiful and so you need this yes this liquid part because that's what's gonna bring everything to pressure these canned tomatoes which you can actually find a recipe on our website conveniently Holly good for was it called caveman caveman can tomato can tomatoes that's right yes perfect they're really pimples just three ingredients okay so yeah it's all mixed up cool time now to chicken this is a family pack size Costco chicken thighs diced into bite-sized pieces I like to mix that up a little bit and then we're just gonna put that on the manual setting we have to press off first they keep warm cancel button to take it off of sautee whoops Daniel and we're gonna have to make sure the lids on in the make sure that the top is not on venting not on venting so that it seals this guy is guilty of that all the time so facing forward is open and making sure that it's back pressed down so that it seals okay so now while that cooks I've got enough time to do my beauty counter your face mask you can probably check out another video when we actually do all right so we're almost there the nice thing about this recipe is that we're gonna do a quick release so faster don't have to wait for it to naturally release I'm gonna flick the we call this thing I'm gonna flick this thing the pressure releasing vent but uh I think we're gonna mute that because it is pretty loud it would be just obnoxious probably watching this on your phone and like people around you're gonna be like what the heck is going on over there we don't need that they don't need that so we're also gonna move the pot just slightly out Troy the count yeah no not counter what do you call this cabinet tenants you shouldn't take too long to release the pressure too bad we can't have smell-o-vision videos hey another thing about the instant pot that not everybody realizes because let's face it how many of us actually read the instruction manual oh is that it's got this nifty little spot for the word cool all right yeah like stuff kind of separated a little bit but that's okay we're gonna mix it all up nice okay so time to add garam masala and I would just like to point out that the reason that we didn't do that initially was because with the other spices we're not cooking the garam masala because when you do it just becomes a little bit overpowering so we're not now and we're gonna add the coconut cream so the thick part as well as the tomato paste and do that now so that thickens it all to taste you can add salt to taste some people won't want more salt but I know rajma yeah don't be scared of salt okay like it's really important actually for our bodies for a lot of our processes it's in like all of our tissues and cells it's very important it does complement flavors too right these will bring out the sweetness of the coconut milk and the other spices will be complemented with salts some people just like being salted less that's true but sometimes it's because they're scared and I say don't be scared yeah it's just so important to vary flavor profile I tell you okay cool this isn't in the instructions but at this point I like to turn the instant pot off if you can see not quite there we go turn it off and then turn it to saute and again go to adjust to less so it's a low saute this helps take some of the excess moisture out from the pressure cooker and that chicken we used had been frozen so there was extra moisture in that then it also keeps it nice and warm it sort of incorporates all of those spices with your tomato paste and your coconut milk the other nice thing that we like to do is cilantro it's just so good in there oh cool okay it's also relies on your plating it just save some of that and you'll toss it on and make it nice and creamy that end with the omens there you go and again if you leave a little bit to just finish and put on top that's just looks really pretty that way cool cool enjoy .

The Paleo diet is great for those who are hoping to shed a few pounds, but more than that it is a major lifestyle choice.
It isn’t just about losing weight, but about feeling great and making choices that are healthy for you and that make you feel good.
This guide will help you to get started on this rewarding journey to eating foods that were meant to be eaten, the way they were meant to be eaten.
hey what's up guys we're about to get radical it's a Mexican classic you're gonna want to stick around for this one it's an acorn squash molcajete haiya we're gonna start with two acorn squash and I'm gonna cut these in half as best I can right down the center then I'm gonna scoop these out scoop the seeds out for that I just use a spoon all right the sharp kind of the the edge of a spoon is sharp enough to get in here kind of scrape away the fibers and the seeds stringy stuff next thing I'm gonna do is just grab some oil give a little drizzle olive oil on top salt and pepper I'm gonna throw these in the oven at 375 for about 15 minutes while our squash is cooking I'll just explain quickly what molcajete means this is a mortar and pestle in Spanish molcajete is mortar and pestle so what they'll do is they'll make a mixture they'll put it in here and then they'll bake that thing in an oven comes out bubbling and super hot and kind of dangerous but we're just gonna make a mock one using our squash that's what we're getting that par-cooked now we're gonna make the mixture to go actually inside our little mortar if you want to do that I've got a link of sausage here take out of the casing then I'm going to break it up into little bits so that it these cook at about the same time it takes to cook shrimp or scallop okay from there I'm gonna add some tomato sauce I'll say 1 cup and then I have to Pho I got 8 shrimp and 8 scallops we're gonna put two shrimp and two scallops in each half squash these are wild shrimp I pulled the mussel off the side of the scallops make sure to do that and then always just check for the veins on your shrimp I'm gonna smash 2 cloves of garlic put a knife through them that in there and then a couple sprigs of cilantro okay to that we're gonna add maybe two teaspoons this is straight California chili powder and when you're doing chili powders I recommend you get the pure chili powder not the mixture of chilli cumin salt that type of stuff it's looking like that I'm add a little bit of water so there we have it guys there's our stuffing mixture there we are 20 minutes in there about halfway cooked part you know partially soft and now we're just gonna take our mixture here and divvy it out glove back on we're going back in the oven for about 20 more minutes do we are guys we want 25 minutes so 40 40 45 total minutes beautiful look at that so you're gonna expect it to kind of overflow when you see the molcajete in the Mexican restaurant a lot of times its bubbling over and they're stuffed crust and down the sides and we got that same effect here all right so nice soft squash all right then to finish plating kind of garnish it up we're gonna go with some mass email for the crema effect little sound effect in there too and then a couple sprigs of cilantro okay so there we are with our acorn squash molcajete it's a little work to get it started but after that it's pretty hands-off get out there give this one a try happy cooking and we'll see you next week .

hey it's Andrea from when we calm I'm so glad you're joining me today because we are going to talk about great tips on how to maintain a paleo weight loss meal plan we all know that the Paleo diet is simple easy to follow and really helps you shed those pounds but before you start a paleo weight loss meal plan you may want to know how to do it correctly being a nutritionist there is nothing I like more than helping my clients perfect a great diet just for them so along with my team at well me calm we've put together some tips to help you out make sure you stick with me till the end because we have some great advice for you you don't want to miss it if you're currently doing a paleo weight loss meal plan or you plan on starting one soon you really want to watch this video till the end the key about being successful on any diet is being consistent and sticking with it and this video will give you great tips and how to do that you want to do this for a long time maybe even a lifetime because you want to maintain the body that you really want so work your way to get there maintain it with these awesome tips my first tip for maintaining a paleo weight loss meal plan is to stock up on paleo friendly snacks if you're like me and you have kids and a family and a job you run around constantly all day so there may be times where you don't have time to prepare yourself a meal so you want to make sure you always have paleo friendly snacks in your pantry and in your fridge fruits vegetables nuts nut butters they're all delicious and filling and a little trick about the fruits and vegetables is that if you wash them and chop them and put them in Tupperware cut up and ready to go you are more likely to snack on them so when you get home from the grocery store make sure before you put your fruits and vegetables in the fridge you wash you cut you prep maybe you even put them in baggies ready to go so that all you have to do is grab and get out the door tip number two use seasonings wisely so you're gonna be cooking some new meal throw in some seasonings that you've never experimented with before you don't want to get bored with the same flavors and everything so start researching you know different ways to prepare your steak or your eggs or your chicken or any of your meats and vegetables and add the seasonings that you've never tried that way you don't get bored tip number three practice good portion control when you overeat on any diet it's detrimental whether you're eating clean eating paleo eating keto whatever diet you're on if you overeat in any of those diets it's going to be a slippery slope downhill so make sure you practice good portion control an easy way to check your portion sizes is to make a palm and make a fist and the size of your fist should be the size of the protein that you're eating with each meal and then what you can fit in the palm of your hand is all of your carbs and so if you're doing paleo that would be fruits and vegetables and starches if you're doing potato tip number four maintain a healthy lifestyle as a woman every pound of muscle I gained I will burn 70 more calories a day and as a man you would burn 100 more calories a day so for every pound of muscle we gain we get to eat a little bit more and not gain any weight and then if you're doing paleo for weight loss you would have that calorie deficit much easier the more muscle you have so make sure you're exercising and lifting weights and being active that way you help your body burn through those calories and tip number five keep a food diary even I eat really clean all the time but when I keep a food diary it really keeps me accountable and it shows me I may not be doing as great as I thought I was so if you log every single thing that you eat throughout the day you may find that sometimes you don't need as great as you thought you were and it's time to clean it up even more as promised I'm gonna give you some ideas for great paleo snacks especially if you have a sweet tooth because I do so try some almond butter and chocolate bars and it's kind of like you're having a Twix or a Snickers you can try an apple pecan crisp if you have an inkling for apple pie or it feels like Thanksgiving cookie dough bites one of my favorites and coconut macaroons and most of these recipes only have 3 to 4 ingredients and they're really quick to make with my tips on a paleo weight loss meal plan you are now fully prepared to tackle that Paleo diet hard if you have any questions or need advice just comment below and I'll get back to you there's also loads of Paleo advice and recipes over at well mcoms so make sure you check that out and we'll link below in the description thanks for watching and don't forget to hit subscribe alright get out there get at that diet and be healthy .

Put simply, the Paleo weight loss meal plan means that you can only eat food that would have been available in the Paleolithic era. a couple pork chops here they're not super thick but they're thick enough to get a sear on them but still have them be moist in the middle we are gonna pair that with some balsamic braised red cabbage and there's some caramelized apple and onion yeah it's kind of like that you can use this more like a paring knife and start around the top right I'll do the same thing on the bottom and then good way to attack it and then over here I'm gonna get after the cabbage and I'm gonna start that I got three slices of bacon I'm just gonna put a little oil in this pan preheated cast-iron skillet get my Bacon's on we got some garlic here when the knife is a quickly that's a good I guarantee that's gonna smell yeah bacon fat and garlic so olive oil after that we'll add a little onion going in there very nice I'm gonna cut flat here kind of get rid of that that that looking good so there's no seeds in there I'm just gonna take these okay got that apples are good no do you think this is sugar in apples a little bit so what we're going to do is draw those sugar out and caramelize apples we've got this pan going here make it hot go those out for you right what's up I'm like and all that cabbage the war oil pepper little throw some salt on top of this cabbage here back trapped in that moisture well this is really where the brave begins once we start to contain some of the moisture it will help break down the cabbage there we go so your job to kind of keep an eye on this cat as soon as you get our apples caramelized the point that we like them we'll just set them aside on a plate and then we'll hit up the onion you take a look at the cabbage okay go ahead and give that a stir she always started to break down a little bit we get some bleeding of the color into the center right the eventually that will bleed all the way to the middle dark purple check our apples oh all right now I got a hot pan here I'm gonna salt these pork chops liberally oil in the pan see the side down very crew so that you have a hot pan at least 350 degrees that way we can get a hard sear on these before the center is dried out these are the top so let's go ahead and transfer them to that in with the onions that be careful then you just want to kind of let them sit there for a minute all right let's take a look at our pork chops here not bad you let this thing go a little bit longer check Kat onions over here how they looking going through that Oh the ball write it for me I'm gonna pull that let this one cook a little bit longer so actually gonna tilt the pan all right we're gonna call this one good pull them off just let them rest in the beginning I did call this balsamic braised red cabbage so we're gonna give it a little balsamic right now hold that in a little bit more salt onions are done check those good apples are ready let's plate I'm gonna see if we can build that instead of kind of right across here Apple go right on top of the pork let's see if we can get a couple more let's show the car libation so you might want to turn these people Munya those will super can kind of like drape across here there you go cat it's good a couple more that tape down here and then when I'd look at picked maybe a nice little drizzle of balsamic they've got no car pull it all together so there it is balsamic braised red cabbage with a pretty hard seared pork chop some caramelized apples and onions and a drizzle of balsamic on paleo Nick this is Belmont Stakes bail me and we're doing what we can to help you keep it paying yo .

There is no question that Catherine Belme is a Culinary Ninja and this video is proof! She joins me to make a Paleo version of a dish I used to make at The Kincaid Grill in Anchorage, AK. Our chops were twice as thick and we served it with buttered black pepper spaetzle, but I'd argue that the Paleo preparation is as tasty and filling.

I love this dish. It is practical, economical, ultra tasty, and an all around solid lesson in Culinary Ninjahood. Speaking of Culinary Ninjas, I've been reading a book by Rick Bayless and I love everything about the guy. He is an amazing writer, chef, historian, Spanish speaker, restaurateur, philanthropist, etc... They guy wears so many hats, they'd be difficult to count. He gives a ton of credit to his team, who helps him create endless, "top notch" products.
